The Bottom - Officers rescue woman on the Sandy Cruz Trail - On Wednesday, January 1st, the police dispatch center received a report of a woman hiking on the Sandy Cruz Hiking Trail on Saba. The woman had been hiking with a group but became exhausted and could not continue. Police immediately responded and went onto the trail to search for the woman and provide assistance. Shortly afterward, they encountered the woman and two other people.

She was checked for injuries, but had none. She was completely exhausted, however. The officers picked her up and walked her back to the trailhead. After about 100 meters, they encountered firefighters and paramedics who had a special chair to help her move further. She was taken to the hospital by ambulance for a medical checkup.
