Kralendijk - Drunk Driving Arrests - On Tuesday, January 14th, around 9:30 PM, the central dispatch center received a report of a suspected drunk driver driving a pickup truck on Kaya Nikiboko Zuid. While speaking with the caller, the driver of the pickup truck collided with another car near the roundabout on Kaya Nikiboko Zuid and Kaya Industria. During the conversation with the driver of the pickup truck, it was observed that he displayed several characteristics of someone under the influence of alcohol. A breath test was administered, which showed that he had consumed more than the legal amount of alcohol. The 53-year-old man, whose initials are S.U.C.D., was arrested and taken to the police station for a breathalyzer test. Based on the results, his driver's license was confiscated. This is the second time the suspect has been arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, and he also received a ticket for driving without valid insurance.
On Tuesday, January 14th, around 6:45 PM, the central dispatch center received a report that a car had crashed into the wall of a restaurant parking lot on Bulevar Gobernador N. Debrot, after which the car drove off. A patrol was dispatched in the aforementioned direction and found a vehicle at another restaurant on Bulevar Gobernador N. Debrot. This vehicle matched the description in the report. Because the driver was trying to drive away at that moment, the officers signaled him to stop. When the officers spoke with the driver of the aforementioned car, they noticed that he displayed several characteristics of someone under the influence of alcohol. A breath test was administered, which showed that he had consumed more than the legal amount of alcohol. The 62-year-old man, whose initials were W.J.M., was arrested and taken to the police station for a breathalyzer test. Based on the results, his driver's license was confiscated. This is also the second time the suspect has been arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.
Collision between car and scooter
On Monday, January 13, around 4:55 PM, a car and a scooter collided on Kaya Neerlandia. The scooter driver was injured and taken to the hospital by ambulance for medical treatment. The car driver stated that she was driving onto Kaya Neerlandia from Kaya Maria C. Hellmund-Boom. At that moment, she saw a scooter with its right turn signal on. She thought the scooter driver was driving onto Kaya Maria C. Hellmund-Boom and therefore started to drive onto Kaya Neerlandia. However, when she saw that the scooter driver did not turn, a collision occurred. Both drivers' documents were in order.
House search with arrest
In the afternoon of Monday, January 13, a house on Kaya Mazurka was searched in connection with an investigation into a violation of the BES Opium Act. A 39-year-old man with the initials K.E.S.T. was arrested. Several items relevant to the investigation were seized during the search. The investigation is ongoing.
