Kralendijk - Person hit - On Thursday, January 30th, around 4:00 PM, the central dispatch center received a report that a person had been hit by a car on Kaya Gilberto F. (Betico) Croes. When police arrived, the driver of the car stated that she saw the victim standing on the side of the road and that the man suddenly crossed the road. She tried to avoid the collision, but unfortunately, it was too late. The man fell to the ground and suffered minor abrasions. The victim was treated at the scene by paramedics and did not require hospitalization. In accordance with the "crash, breathe" policy, the driver of the car was given a breath test, which returned a negative result.

Arrest for threats and violation of the Weapons Act

On Monday, January 27, around 4:35 PM, a 41-year-old man with initials J.F.R.F. was arrested for making threats and violating the BES Firearms Act. The arrest occurred after the central dispatch center received a report of a man brandishing a knife on the street in Rincón.

Upon arrival, the man was found in front of a bar on Bulevar Miguel Pourier. The officers saw that the man had a knife in his waistband. When the officers attempted to approach him, he refused and began yelling at them. At one point, the man pulled the knife from his waistband and placed it on the ground. He then turned around and ran away, yelling. He was ordered to remain standing, but he refused. The officers grabbed him by the shoulder, after which he began to resist, pulled away, and ran away. The man then tripped over his own feet, giving the officers the opportunity to take him to the ground and arrest him. During transport, the suspect threatened an officer several times.

In addition, a report of threats was filed. Earlier that day, the suspect had refused to pay at a supermarket on Kaya Commerce in Rincon and then threatened a cashier with a knife. The case is under investigation.

Several reports of theft at Altamira Unjo

On Monday, January 27, around 2:15 PM, the central emergency dispatch center received a report of a single-vehicle collision on Kaya Avelino J. (Abechi) Cecilia. A car had driven into the pedestrian zone, trapping the occupants. The fire department was called to the scene to extricate the victims, after which both were medically examined by paramedics. Neither appeared to have sustained any injuries and did not require hospitalization, but were very shaken. The driver stated that she suddenly felt cramps in her legs while driving. When she tried to brake, she accidentally hit the accelerator, causing the car to drive into the pedestrian zone.

Unconscious person resuscitated

On Sunday, January 26th, around 11:45 PM, the emergency dispatch center received a report of a person lying on the ground near a bar on Kaya L.D. Gerharts. The emergency dispatch center immediately called an ambulance, which examined the man at the scene, but decided not to take him to the hospital.

A short time later, a second report came in about the same person, as he was likely not breathing. A patrol and an ambulance were notified. The patrol that arrived immediately began CPR until the ambulance arrived. Upon arrival, the man was taken to the hospital.
