Scheduled Traffic Check SABA
On Tuesday, June 24th, between 4:30 PM and 5:30 PM, a scheduled traffic check was carried out on Samuel A. Charles Street on Saba. A total of twelve (12) vehicles were checked during the operation, resulting in three (3) fines. Two fines were issued for driving without a license, and one for not wearing a seatbelt.
Several drivers were also warned about worn-out tires, in accordance with Article 85 of the Saba Road Traffic Ordinance.
KPCN will continue to carry out checks at various locations across the island and reminds all road users to ensure they have the necessary documents in order. These checks aim to enhance the safety of all road users. Adhering to traffic regulations is essential to collectively contribute to safer roads on the island.
Arrest EUX
On Tuesday, June 24th, around 4:45 PM, a 39-year-old man with the initials H.A.P. was arrested at the police station on St. Eustatius. He was arrested on suspicion of threatening with violence, aggravated assault, vandalism, and violating the BES Weapons Act. The suspect had been involved in a brawl on Heyligerweg on Monday, June 23rd. The case is currently under investigation.
