Planned Traffic Check SABA 

On the afternoon of Thursday, the 24th of July, a planned traffic check was conducted on Samuel A. Charles Street on Saba. During the control, four (4) vehicles were checked, and one (1) fine was issued for not wearing a seatbelt.

Planned Traffic Check EUX 

On the morning of Wednesday, the 23rd of July, the Dutch Caribbean Police Force (KPCN), in collaboration with the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee (KMar), conducted a planned traffic check on the Theodore A.M. Pandt Road on Sint Eustatius. During the control, approximately 40 drivers were checked, and five (5) fines were issued.

The fines were for the following violations:

  • 3x for driving without a valid driver's license or failing to produce it upon first request;

  • 1x for driving without a helmet;

  • 1x for not wearing a seatbelt.

The KPCN will continue to carry out checks at various locations on the island and warns all road users to have the necessary documents in order. The police will continue to conduct these types of controls to ensure the safety of all road users. It is very important to comply with traffic rules and thus contribute to safe traffic on the island.
