Planned traffic control EUX
On Wednesday, 8 October, a planned traffic control was carried out on Sint Eustatius in cooperation with the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee. The checks took place on Mansionweg, Fort Oranjestraat and Theodore A.M. Pandt Road.
During the operation, a total of 64 drivers were inspected, resulting in thirteen (13) fines being issued.
The fines were given for the following offences:
• 4x for not wearing a seat belt;
• 4x for driving without valid insurance;
• 3x for driving without a valid driving licence or failing to present it upon first request;
• 1x for riding without a helmet;
• 1x for failing to present a valid road tax certificate.
The Caribbean Netherlands Police Force (KPCN) will continue to carry out checks at various locations on the island and warns all road users to ensure their documents are in order. The police will continue to conduct such operations to safeguard the safety of all road users. It is of great importance to obey traffic regulations and, together, contribute to safe traffic on the island.
